Despite a pledge to run on an “aspirational, positive message,” Andrew Scheer’s Conservatives are doubling down on Stephen Harper’s playbook of divisive and negative politics.
New Facebook transparency measures are shining a light on some of the digital ads that they targeted to specific voters in the latest round of by-elections. Take a look for yourself:
Conservative ad in Scarborough—Agincourt via Facebook
Let’s be clear -- these ads were desperate attempts to instill division and fear in Canadians, purely for Conservative partisan gain.
These tactics didn’t work for Stephen Harper in 2015, and these by-election results show that they aren’t working for Andrew Scheer either. But we always need to be ready to respond and defend positive politics.
Stand up against the negative Conservative attack ads, and call on Andrew Scheer to instead help unite our country with leadership that brings Canadians together.
